What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Children in Need - Helping children in need is a high priority of the Better World Fund. Through a matching grant of over $6,000,000 to UNICEF, the Better World Fund supported UNICEF's program to save the lives of Afghan children faced with the triple threat of war, winter, and famine. The project interventions include the purchase of antibiotics for children with pneumonia, the vaccination against the six major childhood diseases, the purchase of school supplies and hand pumps for water wells, Vitamin A capsules and first aid kits. Global Landmine Crisis - Adopt-a-Minefield - the campaign works globally with Goodwill Ambassadors Paul and Heather McCartney to help save lives by raising funds for and awareness about the landmine problem. The vast number of landmines in the ground constitutes a major global challenge. Currently, there are an estimated 60 to 70 million landmines in at least 70 countries, maiming or killing approximately 26,000 civilians every year, including 8,000 to 10,000 children. Those who survive endure a lifetime of physical, psychological, and economic hardshi000,000 to help the United Nations Association raise the funds necessary to support UN Development Programme (UNDP) efforts to remove the 70 million landmines affecting more than 60 countries worldwide. Youth Development - Research has shown that young people?s participation in community service is one of the most effective investments in terms of both youth's individual development as well as their contribution to meeting the needs of the community. The Better World Fund has committed over $400,000 in support of Global Youth Service Days. This project aims to recognize young people's year-round contributions to build their communities and their world through volunteer service and aims to build an international network of organizations that promote youth volunteering.
