Mission

Young Womens Christian Association was founded in 1925 to advance the causes of women and eliminate racism. The YWCA-US is a womens membership movement with Christian roots that is enhanced by many beliefs and values. Strengthened by diversity, the YWCA draws members who strive to create opportunities for womens growth, leadership and power. Its shared mission is eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all people.
