What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Employment Services

The Employment Services (ES) department helps individuals with disabilities find work opportunities in the community through On the Job Training or employment assistance. Supported employment, Discovery and pre-employment training also are available through the ES department. Work Incentives Planning & Assistance, or WIPA, services are available, too, for Social Security beneficiaries desiring to work. In addition, the Industry Readiness Training (IRT) program is the newest offering at BAC and gives qualified applicants a resource to get work skills training at various work sites throughout the community. An Industry Advisory Council consisting of local leaders in high-demand industries offers guidance to IRT staff to ensure that participants learn the right skills to make them competitive in the job market.

Population(s) Served
People with disabilities

This department oversees the Adult Day Training program which gives individuals with disabilities classroom education and paid work skills training in a supervised setting within BAC's Production Center. In addition, The Studio at BAC offers a place for "clients" to express their creativity through art that is sold in-house and in the community with proceeds returning to The Studio.

Supported Living services also are available via this department. These services give ndividuals desiring to live independently the necessary supports to do so.

Population(s) Served
People with disabilities

As a partner of the AbilityOne program through SourceAmerica, BAC employs hundreds of individuals with disabilities at contract locations. "Associates" perform contract services such as custodial, food handling, commissary and lawn maintenance duties on federal military sites throughout Florida, as well as in North Carolina, Puerto Rico and Virginia. The agency also outsources these services to various commercial partners such as Port Canaveral, Wuesthoff Health System and USSSA.
