Suncoast Safety Council, Inc.

The Worker Safety Division of the Suncoast Safety Council brings Workplace Safety programs to the employer. Companies pay a small fee for company membership which is based on the number of employees. For this membership the company receives free access to a library of safety videos for use with their employees, a bimonthly newsletter, participation in a yearly safety award program, discounts on all safety education, free help in researching all safety issues and government regulation. The Behind the Wheel Driving Instruction program is the only driving school on Florida's West Coast which is approved by AAA. We offers a 36 hour Driver's Education program similar to that offered in the public high schools. Behind the wheel instruction is also given in 1.5 hour sessions. We are developing a program for seniors to assess their skills and through our partnership with AAA Auto Club South, make recommendations of ways to accomodate their limitations. The Traffic Programs Department implements all state mandated traffic programs and coordinates reporting with the Clerk of Courts and the Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles. These courses include the 4 hour Basic Driving Improvement course, the Advanced Driving Improvement Course, the Traffic Law Safety Education, and the Pinellas County DUI Program. Through affiliation with other community safety organizations and government agencies as well as our services to citizens and companies alike, the Suncoast Safety Council is dedicated to providing quality safety education to Florida's Suncoast.
