George O. Pringle Performing Arts Series
The Performing Arts Series at Lake-Sumter State College began presenting performances in the Paul P. Williams Auditorium over 30 years ago. In 2007, the Lake-Sumter State College Foundation, Inc. renamed its Performing Arts Series, the George O. Pringle Performing Arts Series at Lake-Sumter State College, in appreciation of the patron’s many contributions to the arts and his community. Striving to provide quality live entertainment that is enjoyable, affordable and culturally enriching, the Foundation’s Performing Arts Series has continued to change over the years to keep up with the times and the area’s growth. Through it all, George Pringle had been an avid supporter, making the renaming of the Series a fitting tribute to this champion of the arts.
The series consists of 6 performances that run from October through March. We have a Saturday matinee show, which is at 2:00 p.m., a Saturday evening show, which is at 7:30 p.m. and a Sunday Matinee show at 2:00 p.m. The series features a wide variety of quality entertainment varying from comedy, dance, musicals, big bands and nostalgia. World famous entertainers have appeared on our stage for many years, and will be for many more with the support of our patrons!
All events are held at the Paul P. Williams Auditorium, located on the Leesburg Campus of Lake-Sumter State College.
Scholarship Program
Each year the Foundation awards over $700,000 in scholarships to assist students in building a better future. Gifts from faculty and staff, committed citizens and civic organizations, businesses and foundations help many students lacking financial resources to achieve their educational and career goals.
The gift of a scholarship is much more than tuition, fees and books; it is the gift of education!
Your contribution,

Your gift makes a difference well beyond the classroom!
