What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
The YMCA serves all people, regardless of their ability to pay, with programs that develop the spirit, mind, and body. YMCA provides traditional daycare, an after school enrichment program, and day camp activities. YMCA also offers programs designed to develop the spirit, mind and body through cardiovascular and muscular activity.
Youth Development
Youth Development is the social-emotional, cognitive, and physical processes
that all youth uniquely experience from birth to career. At the Y, we know
that a successful development process fulfills children and teens’ innate need
to be loved, spiritually grounded, educated, competent, and healthy.
Our goals are to nurture the potential of youth in ways
that foster achievement, relationships and belonging
Healthy Living Programs
Healthy
Lifestyles and Wellness coaching programs support participants through
health-related behavior change. Participants are empowered to create lasting
healthy lifestyle habits to include stress reduction, improved nutrition, and
increased physical activity. Participants experience improved self-confidence
and a sense of achievement in accomplishing their short- and long-term health
goals.
Social Responsibility Activities
We
know that when we work together, we move individuals, families and communities
forward. Since 1844, the Y has responded to society’s most pressing needs by
developing innovative, community-based solutions and uniting people from all
walks of life to participate in and work for positive social change. Whether
providing job training to a newly single parent, advocating for affordable,
healthy food options for underserved communities, or helping newcomers
transition well into their new neighborhoods, the Y is committed to giving all
people the tools and support to live healthy, connected and secure
lives.
