Funding Needs

The Laura (Riding) Jackson Foundation is planning for the next 25 years. Our top priority is the preservation of the LRJ home and so we are embarking upon a $250,000 capital preservation campaign. The Foundation's mission includes advancing the legacy of the poet, Laura (Riding) Jackson, which it accomplishes through our many literary programs for teenagers and adults. Now we are in a position to expand those programs to elementary and junior high schools through the creation of a mobile creative learning lab which would visit the schools in the county to augment the state required literature standards. The purpose is to encourage fluency and creative writing while having fun. Until now, the Foundation has survived through the effort of a small but dedicated group of volunteers, with occasional administrative support. Our ambitions require a part-time executive director with grant writing and administrative skills.
