Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Education & Career Development
These programs help youth create aspirations for the future, providing opportunities for career exploration and educational enhancement.

Power Hour- a comprehensive homework help, completion and study program. Members spend time working on their homework each day with our trained staff & volunteers.
Goals for Graduation-introduces academic goal setting to Club members ages 6-15 to the concept of academic goal setting. In one-on-one sessions with Club professionals, members set achievable “Know-I-Can” goals, more challenging “Think-I-Can” goals and yearly “Believe-I-Can” goals, and create action plans.
Health & Life Skills
Programs in this area develop young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults.
SMART Moves (Skills Mastery & Resistance Training)-a comprehensive prevention program which help young people resist alcohol, tobacco & other drug use, as well as premature sexual activity. SMART moves features engaging, interactive, small-group activities that increase a participant’s peer support, enhance life skills, build resiliency & strengthen leadership skills.
SMART Girls-a small-group health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls age 8-12 & 13-17. Through dynamic sessions, highly participatory activities, field trips and mentoring opportunities with adult women, girls explore their own societal attitudes & values as they build skills for eating right, staying fit, good health care, & developing positive relations
Character & Leadership Development
Helping youth become responsible caring citizens & acquire skills in working together is the main focus of these programs. They also develop leadership skills and provide opportunities for planning & contributing to our Club & community.
Youth of the year-A premier recognition program promoting & celebrating teenagers' service to Club, community and family; academic performance & spiritual values. It is used as a year-round tool for fostering young people's personal growth & leadership qualities. Each Club recognizes Youths of the Month and selects a Youth of the Year.
Keystone/Pathfinders-a chartered small-group leadership & service club. A powerful vehicle through which Club staff can help meet the special needs of adolescents at critical stages in their development. Members learn to elect officers, work together to plan & implement activities in four areas: service to Club & community, education, health & fitness & social recreation.
Sports, Fitness & Recreation
Programs in this area develop fitness, positive use of leisure time, skills for stress management, appreciation for the environment & social skills.
Triple Play-a Game Plan for Mind, Body and Soul. The goal is to improve & educate boys and girls about good nutrition, making physical fitness a daily practice and developing individual strengths and good character. In addition to components for the mind and body, the program gets at the soul of the Club experience – the games room. Each mind, body and soul program component can stand alone, yet integrating them allows Club members to reap more powerful, lifelong benefits.
Fitness Authority-promotes fitness in all youth through fun, engaging weekly activities & an annual competition with local, regional, & nat’l levels. The program features 12 weekly sessions. Members play games & try new sports with their fitness levels are measured with simple tests of endurance, flexibility & strength.
The Arts
Programs in this area enable youth to develop their creativity & cultural awareness through knowledge & appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts & creative writing.
Imagemakers-encourages members to learn & practice black & white, color, digital & alternative process photography. The components are: a photography programming guide, creative activity ideas for 3 skill levels, & an annual photography contest that provides recognition. Each winning artist’s work is featured in a virtual gallery on the ImageMakers Web site, www.imagemakersbgca.org. The site also features resources & interactive activities to enhance member’s with online contests & photography.
