What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
CPF Educational Series
CPF offers monthly presentations to members on topics affecting pediatric health care today. Recent topics have included childhood obesity, vitamin D deficiency, safe sleep, measles and detecting child abuse. Each session provides CME credit to members who attend.
Vaccine Discount Program
CPF administers a Physician Buyers Group program that can save pediatric practices up to 60% on their vaccines. For a small pediatric practice, purchasing vaccines is a huge part of their expenses. By participating in CPF's Vaccine Discount Program, small practices are saved the hassle of negotiating prices while also receiving competitive pricing. The Vaccine Discount Program is available to both CPF member practices as well as non-members.
Quality Improvement Program
In 2014, CPF launched the Quality Improvement Program to encourage pediatric practices to increase vaccination rates for Tdap, Meningococcal and HPV. To date, there are 20 practices and over 80 providers participating in the program. In August 2015, practices submitted data to see if vaccination rates and series completion have increased from the previous year after education and technical assistance was provided to each practice. Additional quality improvement programs around asthma, smoking cessation, and behavioral health are being developed and implemented by CPF.
Rockin' the Roundtable
Pediatric practice managers have the unique job of ensuring that practice runs smoothly from day to day. They face issues regarding billing, staffing, changing health care regulations, physician credentialing, scheduling and more. CPF offers a place for pediatric practice managers to learn from each other both via conference calls and monthly luncheons. Each month, CPF offers a luncheon in different areas across Middle Tennessee. This active learning community provides valuable peer input and support.
Medical Student Placement and Residency Program Engagment
CPF works with the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine to place medical students in community pediatric practices in Nashville and surrounding areas. All Vanderbilt Pediatric Residents receive a free membership to CPF throughout the span of their program. Residents are encouraged to participate in educational opportunities, social events, and CPF research/quality programs. CPF also works with the Pediatric Residents to find mentors in the community.
