Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Community Integration
Breakthrough Corporation will improve the lives of adults with autism and their families by offering a full continuum of services, ranging from community day services, recreational activities, and respite care to full community living programs, all tailored to meet the individuals special needs.
Breakthrough currently offers a continuum of supportive services. Our Saturday Respite and Recreation program that meets at the Cansler YMCA in Knoxville. It was started in January 2005 and currently offers recreation activities for adults with autism while giving their caregivers a respite.
The residential and in home support services
were started in fall of 2006.
Community based day services focusing on therapeutic recreation, volunteering and job placement is our newest service, which began in June 2008.
Community Employment
Breakthrough provides fully integrated, competitive employment services to the individuals we support. Breakthrough has a Project SEARCH site for a nine month internship to learn job skills and acquire job placement, participates in Walgreens REDI program at its retail locations, and promotes employment with local buisnesses in it employment programming.
