Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Carepartner Respite Program
Carepartners of Persons diagnosed with Parkinson's are eligible to receive respite services through a local Caregiver Resources Center paid for by the Parkinson Association.
Quarterly Journal
The Parkinson Path is a Quarterly Journal with articles written by regional Neurologist and Movement Disorder Specialist, Physical Therapists, and Parkinson's Support Group Facilitators address questions and concerns identified by the Parkinson's Community. Each issue also contains an inspirational story and the most updated list of Parkinson's Support Groups in Northern California.
Parkinson's Support Groups
A network of 50 (and growing) Support Groups for persons diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and their care partners in 13 counties throughout Northern California. The groups serve as a resource providing educational and emotional support for the NorCal Parkinson's Community.
ParkinsonWise Training
Training on Parkinson's disease, it's physical challenges and strategies to address them. Training is designed to educate fitness and wellness and other movement professionals on the special needs of Persons with Parkinson's to assist in the development of useful fitness strategies for the Parkinson Community.
Parkinson Association Educational Conference
The Annual Conference for Persons with Parkinson's, their families, friends, and colleagues as well as professionals that intersect with this arena. Subject matter experts, Neurological Movement Disorder Specialist, Fitness and Mental Health Professionals as well inspirational speakers who share information critical to the ability of Parkinson Community to live their best lives as long as possible. This conference draws over 800 attendees annually.
