Mission Statement

Put On Your Armor(SM) grew out of the need to educate and train America's children both mentally and spiritually in order to protect and "armor" them and prevent the influence of drugs, crime and violence. Put On Your Armor(SM) is comprised of volunteers networking with community leaders, school administrators, counselors, church leaders and government officials to establish specific outreaches in cities and states all across America. Live pet armadillos serve as the foundation's mascots.

Jim Schmidt  better known to millions of children and audiences everywhere as "Armadillo Jim", is the speaker, author, entertainer, master of ceremonies or marketing genius that you have been looking for. The kids named Jim "Armadillo Jim" because of his premier world famous Armadillo Derby that he made popular though the non-profit Put On Your Armor Foundation and the Texas Armadillo Association.

Put On Your Armor, a non-profit (501-C-3) Community Outreach program, presents school assemblies and programs of excellence dedicated to armoring children with love. Put On Your Armor (SM) works in partnership with schools, local governments, civic organizations, media, corporations, churches, and individuals.
Put On Your Armor (SM) was founded in 1990 by "Armadillo Jim" Schmidt. "Armadillo Jim" and his mascot, Arnie Armadillo®, have been traveling to schools, fairs, and special events since 1980 with his world famous Armadillo Races. For twenty-eight years "Armadillo Jim" and his Armadillo Rangers™ have traveled internationally to audiences totaling over several million including:
Master of Ceremonies for The Presidential Inaugural Celebration of President George H.   Bush and the Gubernatorial Inaugural Celebration of President George W. Bush
1000 schools in 30 states and Canada
Over 300 television shows such as Nashville Now, Regis & Kathie Lee, Crook & Chase,   Maury Povich, and The Nickelodeon Network
More than 700 conventions
North America's most prestigious fairs, festivals and special celebrations
