What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Kenya

FilmAid’s programs in Kenya are extensive. We work in Kakuma and Dadaab refugee camps as well as informal urban settlements in Nairobi, to support and elevate these marginalized communities.

We work with refugees, volunteers and full-time staff to deliver life-saving information to those who need it most.

Population(s) Served

FilmAid's refugee teams working in the camps on the border of Myanmar and Thailand are creating films and other visual content in close partnerships with associate INGOs, providing community screenings assisting with the dissemination of their important and life enhancing messages. Those messages are designed by the refugees themselves to meet the needs and concerns of the communities.

Dealing with issues ranging from basic hygiene to malaria prevention and landmine awareness, FilmAid's mobile screenings are able to reach all members of the community regardless of their age or level of literacy.

Population(s) Served

In March 2014, FilmAid was one of 130 organizations from 27 countries that participated in the #WithSyria campaign to send a message to the world’s leaders: don’t let the people of Syria lose another year to bloodshed and suffering.
