TOWN BRANCH: THE WCRC PERFORMED STREAM ASSESSMENT, RESTORATION DESIGN PLANNING, PROJECT PERMITTING, MATERIALS PROCUREMENT, AND PROJECT CONSTRUCTION OVERSIGHT FOR A STREAM RESTORATION PROJECT CONDUCTED ON TOWN BRANCH IN BENTONVILLE, ARKANSAS. THE WORK WAS FUNDED BY A GRANT FROM A PRIVATE FOUNDATION WITH MATCHING FUNDS FROM THE CITY OF BENTONVILLE. THE PURPOSE OF THIS WORK WAS TO IMPROVE WATER QUALITY, ENHANCE AQUATIC HABITAT, AND ESTABLISH RIPARIAN AND TERRESTRIAL HABITATS ALONG A PORTION OF STREAM THAT CONTRIBUTED TO WATER QUALITY DECLINE AND LOSS OF HABITAT.

JEMEZ-NM: THE WCRC PERFORMED WATERSHED ASSESSMENT WORK IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE PUEBLO OF JEMEZ THROUGH AN EPA REGION 6 WETLANDS PROGRAM GRANT. THIS INFORMATION COLLECTED THROUGH THE ASSESSMENT WILL ALLOW THE PUEBLO TO PLAN FOR PROTECTION OF SIGNIFICANT NATURAL RESOURCES AS WELL AS CREATE A MECHANISM TO RESTORE NATURAL RESOURCES, SPECIFICALLY WATER RESOURCES THAT HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY HISTROIC AND CURRENT LAND USE AND MANAGEMENT PRACTICES BOTH EXTERNAL OF AND WITHIN THE JEMEZ PUEBLO.

NRCS-RCPP: THE WCRC RECEIVED A GRANT FROM THE USDA-NATURAL RESOURCES CONVSERVATION SERVICE TO IMPLEMENT STREAM RESTORATION AND OTHER BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES TO REDUCE SEDIMENT INPUTS AND IMPROVE WATER QUALITY WITHIN A SUB-AREA OF THE WEST FORK WHITE RIVER WATERSHED. THROUGH THE PROJECT,THE WCRC WITH SUPPORT FROM OTHER PROJECT PARTNERS, WILL WORK WITH LANDOWNERS TO IMPLEMENT CONSERVATION PRACTICES AND RESTORE AT LEAST 1 MILE OF RIVER CORRIDOR ON THE WFWR. THIS WORK HELPS PROTECT THE SOURCE WATER OF BEAVER RESERVOIR. SINCE INITIATING THE PROJECT, TWO STREAMBANK RESTORATION PROJECTS HAVE BEEN IMPLEMENTED AND PREPARATIONS FOR LARGE-SCALE RESTORATION HAVE BEEN INITIATED.
