Embrace

Embrace has developed a comprehensive program model designed to leverage the infant warmer as a catalyst for broader impact on maternal and child health outcomes in developing countries.

Embrace sets up partnerships with NGOs and government entities in under-resourced areas with limited access to modern medical technology. After conducting thorough needs assessments, we distribute the infant warmer for free to clinics and hospitals serving high volumes of low birth weight and premature infants. We work with partners who have deep roots in the communities we serve, and we generally have a long-term presence of at least a year at each program site.

Embrace provides culturally and linguistically-appropriate, side-by-side training to mothers, families, and health care workers at each of our program sites. We focus on raising awareness of the devastating impact of hypothermia; providing hands-on training on the infant warmer as well as Kangaroo Mother Care; and addressing the root causes of low birth weight and other critical maternal/child health issues.
