THG Archives Research

At Telecommunications History Group, we’re proud of our archives collection. Our physical, telecommunications history archive is located in Denver, Colorado in a secure building near the old Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company Headquarters. The collection includes more than 80,000 photos and slides, books, telephone directories, memorabilia, and publications related to telecommunications technology, business, culture, people, and architecture. We have a volunteer archivist on our team and we make our professional research archive available to others.

We provide research services to individuals and companies for a wide variety of purposes, including legal research, genealogy, business, and more. Individual researchers may also utilize our archives by appointment.

Population(s) Served
Adults

Our Museums in Seattle Washington and Denver Colorado display and interpret historical telecommunications technology for the public. A particular strength is our collection of electromechanical telephone switching equipment from the 1880s through the 1970s which are maintained and shown in operating condition. We also display telephones, teletypes, telegraphs and other historic equipment.
