What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
We offer a rich variety of meditation and yoga retreats. At our pristine mountain sanctuary, you can learn to meditate, deepen your existing meditation practice, discover the Shambhala Path or receive in-depth training and instruction in Tibetan Buddhist teachings. We also offer programs that bring a contemplative approach to body-based practices (e.g., yoga, tai chi), art and education, family life, death and dying, and social engagement. You can also experience the magic of Shambhala in our outdoor adventure programs.
Over the last three years we have pursued an ambitious campus development plan. As a result our capacity to host programs has grown dramatically. The completion of the Sacred Studies Hall and Shotoku Children's Center, the purchase and renovation of Red Feather Conference Center, and the construction of the Shambhala Lodge (a new guest housing building) have added over 35,000 square feet of program, dining and housing space to the facility. Shambhala Mountain Center is now able to host over 500 people during the summer season and 150 in the winter.
