Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Recycle Utah's goals are to empower people to lead sustainable lives, with a primary focus on waste reduction and water protection in the greater Park City community.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We significantly reduce waste in our community, as well as protect our water, through offering a variety of collection programs, education programs, workshops, and events. This includes accepting over 45 items for recycling and reuse, offering bi-annual household hazardous waste collection days, advocacy programs, and environmental education for children and adults.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Recycle Utah has been in the Park City community for over 26 years. We have become the go-to resource in the community in regards to environmental conservation, recycling, and water protection. We have a number of full-time and part-time staff that provide information and services to the community daily.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Recycle Utah diverts over 3,519,000 lbs of valuable materials from the landfill each year, which saves precious landfill space and conserves natural resources. Last year we had an almost 20% increase in the number of cars visiting our center daily, with an average of 360 cars coming to recycle each day. In addition, we reach over 3,000 children and adults each year through our environmental conservation education program.
