Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

We are providing funds for MWEEP Kenya (a group of indigenous women who administer the program in Kenya and make decisions about who receives the funds). They administer school fee funds for girls going to day or boarding secondary schools so the girls have a choice regarding their future (to be married young or to pursure their education).
We have an average of 30 girls per term.
We have a few girls going beyond the secondary level, one to univeristy and others to certificate programs.
We have on going coursework in partnership with Project Baobab to provide life skills and entreprenurial skills for women in the village. Some of these women have never gone to school. Those that complete this 17 session course will present their business plans. The top 1/3 will receive $100 grants to start their businesses.

Population(s) Served

The secondary school support allows girls to attend boarding school for their education so they are "rescued" from an early marriage.  Once educated, they can select a husband of their own choosing.  They will be married at an older age.
