Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Chinook Enterprises provides several avenues for the persons to access employment or other services in which they wish to participate. We believe that work empowers all of citizens. Being a contributing member of the workforce provides an important avenue for all persons to lead normal and productive lives and contributes economically to their communities.
Our competitive and supported employment services provide employment assistance to individuals often excluded from the workforce. This includes youth and adults having developmental, physical, sensory or learning disabilities or persons that have been on public assistance for an extended period. Recently, we began an intensive cooperative relationship with local school districts to place and train graduating students with disabilities toward meaningful employment.
For persons needing more intensive employment support, Chinook Enterprises operates a component assembly service that contract with a major northwest aerospace company as well as building customized kits or specialized items for industry. In addition, Chinook operates a commercial landscape maintenance service that maintains the grounds of several major municipal facilities including ports, hospitals industrial complexes and Skagit Valley College.
