Mission

AUMP helps pathologists and technicians be more precise in their work which results in improved diagnoses, and therefor therapies for the pateints of hospitals across Ukraine. What began in three hospitals in the late 1990s is now in six hospitals with several more ready to be equipped and trained. Because AUMP has no paid staff or expensive offices to pay for, we have been able to leverage just $10,000 in cash contributions into $950,000 in assistance delivered so far. We'd like to do much more, as the need is greater than anyone realizes. Life expectancy in Ukraine has decreased by ten or more years since 1991. Cancer and heart disease are major killers. Our work helps with cancer and many other diseases.

Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Our chief program furnishes immunohistochemistry and histology training and support at four hospitals in Ukraine which serve population bases exceeding five million people. We support their laboratory staffs with equipment, antibodies, training, various supplies, and information exchanges. Our Project is committed to provide all aspects of support to the pathology departments of our partners and additional departments as our resources permit. We match resources and needs between our partners and donors in both countries to advance healthcare technology. In addition to our important, high dollar value work with immunohistochemistry we also collect surplus medical equipment and supplies for use by our participating hospitals.
