What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND)
The ND degree is a four-year accredited medical program that prepares students to sit for the Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Examination and practice as a primary care physician.
Doctor of Acupuncture with a Chinese Herbal Medicine Specialization (DAcCHM)
Students learn how to translate the classical texts of Chinese medicine and to apply their understanding to patient care. Graduates achieve competencies preparing them to integrate the principles and practice of classical Chinese medicine into the broader healthcare system. Student earn their doctorate and master's degree in this program. Graduates are able to sit for the certification exam and apply for Oregon licensure as acupuncturists.
Master of Acupuncture with a Chinese Herbal Medicine Specialization (MAcCHM)
This four-year program immerses students in the classical foundation of Chinese medicine. Students receive a holistic education in Western medical sciences, and are trained in the clinical application of the major modalities of acupucture, moxibustion, herbal formulation, bodywork, qigong and nutrition. Graduates are able to sit for the certification exam and apply for Oregon licensure as acupuncturists.
Master of Science in Nutrition (MScN)
Offered online or on-campus, the program is evidence-based and integrates nutritional biochemistry and pathophysiology with advanced clinical nutrition education. An active-learning curriculum provides a solid foundation in holistic nutritionist and food systems, complemented by skill training in cooking, teaching and nutritional counseling. The program meets current academic requirements for the Certified Nutrition Specialist credential.
Global Health
The department offers three programs:
1. Master of Science in Global Health;
2. Master of Arts in International Development and Service; and
3. Master of Arts in Community Organizing and Social Activism.
The Master of Arts degree programs spend 12 months in three countries outside the U.S.
Master of Science in Integrative Medicine Research (MSiMR)
Through cross-disciplinary coursework and hands-on research experience, we train students for multiple research career paths. Students develop natural medicine research protocols from our expert faculty and also work alongside scientists from all fields, including local and national institutions.
Bachelor of Science in Integrative Health Sciences (BSiHS)
As a bachelor's degree completion program, students enter after completing their first two years at a regionally accredited college or university. The degree is a stepping stone to a career or continued graduate study.
Bachelor of Science in Nutrition degree (BScN)
As a bachelor's degree completion program, students enter after completing their first two years at a regionally accredited college or university. The degree is a stepping stone to a career or continued graduate study. The program also offers an accelerated Bachelor's to Master's in Nutrition option.
