SHERIFF'S SEARCH AND RESCUE (SAR) PERSONNEL ARE CALLED OUT ON AVERAGE OF 25 TIMES PER YEAR TO ASSIST THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE. SAR PERSONNEL ALSO RESPOND TO OUT OF AREA LAW ENFORCEMENT REQUESTS FOR ASSISTANCE WITH SEARCH AND RESCUE.IN ADDITION, SAR MEMBERS ARE SUBJECT TO ADVANCED WILDERNESS MEDICAL TRAINING, MAN-TRACKING TRAINING, K-9 TRACKING TRAINING AND ENGAGED IN REGULAR ROPES, WINTER, ICE-RESCUE AND SWIFTWATER TRAINING.
