National Policy, Acquisitions & Special Programs

POLICY PROGRAM The Access Fund is the leading voice of the climbing community in the political and land management arenas. We are active on key issues, come which require a long-term commitment of resources to resolve, such as the fixed anchors in Wilderness issue, and participating in critical land management planning initiatives.
CLIMBING PRESERVATION GRANTS Each year the Access Fund directs membership dollars and corporate and community partner support into the Access Fund Grants Program. Climbing Preservation Grants are awarded for conservation projects, land acquisitions, scientific studies, local climber activism, and climber education around the country.
GRASSROOTS PROGRAM The overall mission of the grassroots support program is to: promote and support the growth and development of local climber activism to effectively resolve local access threats, through Local Climbing Organization's, Regional Coordinator's, and general activist's efforts.
ACCESS AND ACQUISITIONS PROGRAM Areas where we're working with local climbers, land management agencies and other organizations to improve, restore or preserve climbing opportunities.
