1. The West Coast Global Logistics Institute brings together scholars and workers to develop a better understanding of the global economy and the transportation and distribution system in order to determine who pays for it, and who benefits from it. 2. The Friends of Labor is instrumental in assisting various trade unions and their memberships, such as the MUA, ILWU and the Retail Clerks to name a few. Events have brought together broad sections of community leaders and labor activists in support of their common interests. 3. An Educational Outreach program provides ongoing education regarding the Labor Movement and related issues affecting the United States and the world. Ongoing events and seminars provide education that serves as a training ground for students to emulate progressive labor leaders, such as Harry Bridges, Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huerta, Rose Arian, Rev. Martin Luther King, and others.
