Housing for the Developmentally Disabled

Our efforts include, working with local Housing Authorities to receive Mainstream Section 8 vouchers which are for disabled persons and working with developers and local jurisdictions to "set aside" units of a project they are developing for our consumers. Through these two efforts, we enable developmentally disabled persons to lead independent lives.

HCEB manages two RV sites in Oakland that allow 45-50 parking slots (each) for individuals living in their RVs.

HCEB also manages a 20-slot safe parking site in Alameda, CA.

The State of CA launched the HomeBase program during the Covid pandemic. The City of Oakland contracts with HCEB to operate this HomeBase site. This location provides 67 FEMA trailers. for clients and provides supportive services and connections to mental health services.

HCEB operates the Lodge, which is owned and funded by the City of Oakland. Residents of the 92-room Lodge receive case management, supportive services, and mental health counseling that is coordinated by HCEB.
