What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Curriculum
Our goal is to provide an excellent academic program that is competitive with the finest schools in the Bay Area. In a typical school year, JCHS students take a rigorous academic load that exceeds the University of California requirements and offers Advanced Placement opportunities. Courses are taught in a rotating, 75-minute block format, giving students the depth and intensive learning experience associated with college life. Writing courses are emphasized across every facet of the curriculum, including Talmud (Rabbinic literature, law, philosophy, theology, ethics, history; texts in Hebrew, early medieval Aramaic and English) and Tanach (Bible, commentary, reading, interpretation; texts in original biblical Hebrew and English). The small size of classes creates an environment where individual attention and interaction between our students and teachers occur regularly.
