What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Afghan Health Partnership Program

The Afghan Health Partnership Program (AHPP) is our core program. Under this program, the Afghan Coalition promotes access to direct health‐related services for underserved Afghan women and their families for the purpose of health promotion and disease prevention.

The Afghan Coalition has built a strong foundation for taking on the needs and challenges of our community. Our office is a reliable and safe place for community members to gain the support they need
to build self‐sufficient lives and make important connections. Seventy‐five percent of our clients are females with limited English‐speaking ability, so our translation services, advocacy and bilingual resource
materials on health and domestic violence are critical for the community. Furthermore, our advocacy work involves intensive collaboration and networking with other agencies from
around the Bay Area to enhance the delivery of services and access to culturally appropriate services. To this end,
we co‐facilitate the Health Leadership Consortium, bringing together representatives from major health and
human service providers, including representatives from Kaiser Permanente, Palo Alto Medical Foundation
and others to improve the accessibility and cultural responsiveness of health services, improve coordination of services to underserved communities, and improve communication between providers and the health advocates.
