What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The Southern Sierra Council's programs have three specific objectives, commonly referred to as the "Aims of Scouting." They are character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
The methods by which the "Aims of Scouting" are achieved are listed below in random order to emphasize the equal importance of each. These methods are ideals, patrols, adult association, personal growth, outdoors, leadership development, advancement and the uniform.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
The Southern Sierra Council works with over a thousand trained volunteer leaders to deliver the Scouting program to a large number of youth. These volunteers ensure that every youth in the program receives the best possible experience, all while accomplishing the "Aims of Scouting."
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
