What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Vocational Training and Community Employment

The Arc of San Diego's Vocational Training and Community Employment programs provide skill-building and employment opportunities in a variety of industries for adults with disabilities. We help minimize barriers to community employment, provide individual or group job placement in the local workforce, and on-the-job training and on-going support.

Population(s) Served

The Arc's Parent/Infant program provides family-centered early educational services for children from birth to three years old with developmental delays or "at risk" for delay. This high quality early intervention often leads to mainstreaming and helps eliminate the need for future services.

Population(s) Served

Day Training Services combine classroom instruction with community integration and vocational development. People with disabilities receive support with essential life skills such as grooming, communication, and socialization as well as vocational training and self advocacy. The Arc also provides opportunities for seniors with disabilities to participate in recreational activities, as well as enjoy part-time paid work and volunteer opportunities.

Population(s) Served

The Arc of San Diego provides both group home and individual living residential services. At our 12 group homes, we offer a warm and supportive environment to instill confidence and responsibility while meeting the housing needs of people with disabilities. Residents are supported by professionally trained staff who provide 24/7 care. For those who desire to live on their own, we support them with training that includes household and money management, health and personal safety, accessing community resources, and recreational activities.

Population(s) Served

Arc's Personal & Leisure Services offers local recreational activities and worldwide vacations. Activities help participants build relationships with peers through relaxation, entertainment, and new experiences. Trip are available to various locations including Hawaii, Alaska, and Disney World. The Arc also provides Camp-A-Lot and Camp-A-Little, which offer a relaxing week at a traditional residential summer camswimming, and campfire sing-alongs.
