What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
American Youth Symphony
The American Youth Symphony prepares talented young musicians for careers in music and in the world's finest symphony orchestras. The program offers unique rehearsal and performance experiences and brings vibrant music to Los Angeles' diverse communities through a series of five to six admission-free concerts at Royce Hall.
Share-A-Stand
The American Youth Symphony's Share-A-Stand program provides teaching artist mentors to three Title-I middle schools in the LA Unified School District. Teaching artists are current members in the AYS orchestra and gain valuable teaching experience by leading rehearsals or sectionals, and guiding the middle school musicians through composition projects. Each school year culminates with a performance.
