What we aim to solve
The vision of the Western Los Angeles County Council is a world in which people make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
Our programs

Western Los Angeles County Council, Boy Scouts of America
Lion Cubs A school-year based program for Kindergartners. Tiger Cubs BSA A school-year program for first-grade (or 7-year old) boys and girls and their adult partners that stresses shared leadership, learning about the community, and family understanding. Each youth-adult team meets for family activities, and twice a month all the teams meet for Tiger Cub den activities.Cub Scouting A family and home-centered program that develops ethical decision-making for boys and girls in the second through fifth grades (or who are 8, 9, and 10 years old). Fourth and fifth-grade (or 10-year-old) boys and girls are called Webelos Scouts (WE?ll BE LOyal Scouts) and participate in more advanced activities that begin to prepare them to become Scouts BSA. Cub Scouting?s emphasis is on quality program at the local level, where boys and families are involved. Scouts BSA A program for boys and girls 11 through 17 designed to achieve the aims of Scouting through a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with the counsel of an adult Scoutmaster. (Boys and Girls also may become Scouts BSA members if they have earned the Arrow of Light Award or have completed the fifth grade.) Venturing and Sea Scouting A program for young men and women who are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years of age to provide positive experiences through exciting and meaningful activities that help youth pursue their special interests, grow, develop leadership skills, and become good citizens.
Activities
WLACC provides programming and support to partner organizations such as schools, service clubs, and other community groups who adopt Scouting for the benefit of youth in the local community. Activities include Day Camps, Scout/Parent Weekend Camps, Merit Badge Events, STEM Education, Inventing, and youth leadership training and development. Through our chartered partners, WLACC delivered Scouting programs to more than 10,000 youth.
Outreach
Outreach is an after-school Scouting program offered through paid program staff Title I schools in the eastern San Fernando Valley. Outreach ensures that all youth have the opportunity to experience Scouting programs regardless of financial means.

Our local Council has successfully served youth for more than 100 years. Tens of thousands of youth have experienced the positive impact of Scouting in Los Angeles due to WLACC.
