SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Young Black Scholars Program

Young Black Scholars is a comprehensive college preparatory program for African American and other minority high school students. The program brings together some of the best and brightest future leaders to participate in more than 30 workshops, programs, seminars, and conferences throughout the academic school year.

Population(s) Served

We develop and foster relationships between members of the 100 Black Men of Los Angeles, the See Your Future Mentoring Program and Young Black Scholars, in order that this relationship would lead to heightened self-esteem for the youth through improved family relations, academic success, social and financial responsibility. Our community based mentoring program meets during the school year from January through May on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month on the campus of West Los Angeles College in the MSA Building.

Population(s) Served

We will share networking and relationship-building for student participants, Chapter leaders, and program mentors.

Assess students’ career aspirations, goals, soft-skills, strengths, growth opportunities, and the program goals they would like to achieve.
