What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Research
East-West Center researchers collaborate with scholars in the region on critical issues including: security and governance; environment, health and population; innovation and economic growth; and human rights and justice.
Education
Student programs offer competitive degree scholarships and affiliate study opportunities for students from the US, Asia Pacific region and elsewhere. The residential Asia Pacific Leadership Program which offers a graduate-level certificate in applied leadership skills and interdisciplinary regional expertise, is complemented by a suite of specialized leadership programs for Pacific Islanders, Southeast Asian public employees and other groups. AsiaPacificEd and the Asia Studies Program work with educators to infuse greater Asian and Pacific content into college and K-12 curricula.
East-West Seminars
Media programs provide journalists with professional development and enhanced understanding of critical regional issues through dialogue and travel-study exchanges, as well as a biennial international Media Conference that is held in the region. Leadership and policy dialogue programs allow emerging political, business and civil society leaders to exchange views, build networks, development leadership skills and deepen knowledge of regional issues.
